Textile Express is a family-run fabric retailer based in a 16th century coaching inn in Oswestry, Shropshire — with over 2,700 products, 7,500+ reviews, and a loyal community of sewers, crafters and homemakers across the UK. They’ve been selling fabric online long before most retailers took e-commerce seriously.
UserBoost began working with them six years ago, optimising and developing their Magento website continuously — running tests, analysing behaviour, and steadily improving the experience. Over that time, we built up a detailed picture of exactly how Textile Express customers shop: what they search for, where they hesitate, what makes them convert, and what gets in their way.
But Magento was holding the business back. Updates required developer time. New products were slow to add. The platform was complex to manage. And underneath it all, years of incremental changes had accumulated into a site that worked — but wasn’t built around what we now knew about the customers using it.
